Mud pump piston rod is main accessories between drilling mud pump power end and hydraulic end , is also one of the drilling pump vulnerable parts. The piston rod is forged by 42CrMo.
The strength of the product is improved after heat treatment. The product is processed by numerical control. The big end of the piston rod is connected with the power end of the mud pump through the clamp and transfer power;
The small end is equipped with a piston, which makes reciprocating linear motion in the cylinder sleeve, generating pressure. Small piston -- high pressure and low flow;
Large piston - low pressure and high flow. A locked-nut with an anti-loose seal is tightened to prevent piston looseness and seal. Clean piston and piston rod when installing piston rod to ensure no burrs and scratches.
Install the piston seal ring into the groove of the piston core. Attach the piston to the piston rod and take care not to let the o-ring slip. Tighten the nut on the piston rod with the torque of 1625 ~ 2165n.m (1200 ~ 1600ft.lbs).
Smear grease on inner circle of cylinder sleeve and outer circle of piston plug.Check the piston rod and the end of the intermediate rod, and make sure it is clean and free of burrs.
Insert the piston rod into the cylinder liner so that the piston rod stays in alignment behind the cylinder liner and drives the piston into the cylinder liner with hardwood or special tools.
Note that the positioning boss at the end of the piston rod shall not be damaged when approaching the intermediate rod, and the piston rod shall be supported to enter the positioning hole.
Dismantle the connection clamp between piston rod and extension rod, and crank mud pump to separate the extension rod from piston rod. Then use the lifting tool to hold liner inside.
There is no need to remove piston core from piston rod when replacing piston rubber. Replacing the rubber only needs to remove the retainer (circlip) and clamping plate at the front of piston core.
The piston rod is connected to extension rod through clamp, the piston and piston rod are connected by piston nut.
Check if any abnormal sound exist at connection clamp between piston rod and extension rod.
Tighten the clamp bolts or replace qualified clamp, piton rod or extension rod if any abnormal sound occurred.
